Camp -The follow-up-

Back from camp~! :D

--

Was supposed to post this as soon as I got back, but I was dead tired. So its only here now.

3 days 2 nights in a camp near a water resovoir. We've got some military personel "watching and instructing" us or something.

--

I took some pictures, but not a lot, coz I didn't bring the camera out with me when we were doing activities, for fear that it might break or something. And lucky I didn't, because we went jungle trekking and falling into rivers and slamiing into things and jumping around everywhere. Nyeh...

---

Day 1 - Friday

~~

Cut Chinese class to go home and shower. (Wohoo~) Then went back to school to gather.Waited for the other people to come and so we were kinda bored. Was supposed to leave at 3pm, but in the end we got up the bus at 3.30pm becasue teachers were taking attendace to make sure whoever was supposed to be there was there, and whoever isn't isnt.

We got on the first bus. This is us leaving school and the rest of the people xD

We got lost around here. At least the scenery is pretty...

More and more lost xD

Now we were really bored see. We were lost for a couple of hours now, and so...This came up. *supposed to be "Different expressions"*
Zomg lookit Margaret. Scary xD

Camp Entrance...

---

--

-

Once there, they made SURRENDER OUR PHONES!!!Thats...really really evil.

I need my phone to tell the time TAT

--

But meh. Then we went for tea.

Did you know we ate 6 meals a day there. Its really crazy. But we soon learned why.

--

We'd be doing vigorous excercises all day long, and we found ourselves wishing it was time to eat. All day.

--

Free time on the first day till nightfall. Before that we were allowed to roam around while the muslims pray. 2 hours of prayer time. Wow...

Its really pretty, the evening sky. But the night sky has no stars at all. Really sad...

--

To pass time, we experienced second childhood. We ended up playing the games we used to play when we were kids due to the lack of technology over at the camp.

It was kinda fun, reliving childhood memories xD

--

I think tag was the most awesome game ever invented lool.

At 9pm, we went to eat dinner and went to the hall where they split us into groups. I was put into Group 6. Which was later renamed "Aggressor". Heh.

--

After briefing and stuff and giving us an egg, which had to be kept safe at all costs, we had to go design our group flag. Group 2 broke thier egg as soon as we got it LOOL

--

Punishment to befall them on the last day.

This is Group 6 doing our flag

Which, as you can see, is really tiring. Its well over midnight by now. I just relised Janice is handing out tuna biscuits xDWait...Janice isn't even in my group.... O-o

Meh, no matter....

We were finally done at...round 2am.

Tired out, we tried to sleep. In our stuffy room and overcrowded bunk beds.

Overcrowded was partially our fault actually, since we all rather sleep together. But it was so freaggin NOISY that we couldn't sleep.

--

Plus the weather was really hot.

--

When I had finally fallen asleep, at what I assumed was 3am, Moon woke me and Xiao Ler up at 4am. She thought it was already 6am apparently... ==

--

But went back to sleep when she realised it was only 4am. I couldn't sleep again, so I made a bunch of people accompany me to the toilet for a shower. The toilet is outdoors. Scary in the early mornings and nights. So its good to have company.

Day 2 - Saturday

After showering, we messed around and waited for people to wake up. Then at 7am, we had to go outside for morning excercise.

--

The star jumps made us look stupid. ==

Breakfast is after morning excercise. Heh.

Then we had to go marching.

--

Our commander was a really nice guy. He even led us all the way out of camp to show us the little river with the strong current. Oh wheee...

--

Exhausted after marching, we had a tea break and then went into the hall again for some 'motivation speech'.Which, by the way, was filled with UTTER BORINGNESS AND BROKEN ENGLISH UNTIL WE CANT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING BROKEN NOT THE NORMAL BROKEN.

And they call themselves professionals. xp

--

I don't like the main main commander. He reeks of arrogance.

--

When the worst was finally over, we had a map-reading lesson and then lunch.

Then they dumped us into the forest and told us to use our map reading skills to find our way out. =A=

--

They arranged for a REAL ARMY TRUCK to take us to the mouth of the forest. But one group went at a time.

The first group left at around 3.30 pm and when our group's turn finally came, it was already 5pm.

--

It was the first time in my life that I sat in an army truck, and the feeling was really awesome. The truck was kinda high so we had to climb up. Some girl got scared and cried. ==

She even cried going down the truck when we reached the forest mouth. ==

--

But so, depending on which road you take according to the map, you'd get a different path. My group leader took the uphill route. We ended up hiking through mud and thorny bushes and up many steep slopes and down again.

Hard and tiring yes, but what an experience~!

--

We reached back at camp half an hour later.

We thought we could finally rest, but they summoned us again, and this time, we're gonna do river crossing and the flying fox. Group 1 was to take the Flying Fox, while the rest of us went for River Crossing.

No pictures, so this would do... Heh.
As you can see, we had to hold on to the ropes as we crossed over to the other side. And yes, it was THAT high up. Luckily, the river was only waist deep. But still.
--
The first few people to cross got over fine. But then it started to get boring, so the guys decided to jump into the river once they got to the middle. They even threatened each other that the one who did not jump had to sleep on the floor that night. So they jumped
--
And more and more people started jumping. Then our commander had this BRILLIANT idea. He said that by just crossing, it'd be too easy for us, so he was gonna shake the rope REALLY HARD when we crossed. People ended up really falling when he started. He even got a bunch of guys who had finished their crossing to help him. xAx
-
It was impossible to stayy standing on the shaking thin rope, and in the end, I ended up falling too with Wei Shiu, whom I crossed with. Heh.
--
But there was this one really AWESOME guy. When the shook the rope, he did lose his footing and ended up hanging on one rope. But then he pulled himself back up and stood on the second rope again, and made his way across again. They shook an shook him but he just kept pulling himself back up again and again.
-
When he finally reached the other side, we all clapped. HE IS PURE AWESOME. >D
Amazing upper body strength he has. I tried doing what he did, but phailed. Thats why I fell...
-
After getting sand and mud in my shoes, I went back to try to wash the sand out, but then they called us back and made us ALL jump back into the water. And sit.
-
The current was really strong, and almost swept Wei Shiu away, but we held her back down. I couldn't even sit still. I kept moving with the current. Ian kept pushing and pulling us back to our positions. Smart boy...
--
Finally over, we staggered back to the dorms for a much needed shower. But the baths were full, so SzeYun and Margaret and me, washed our hair at the outdoor pipe.

Dorms. Thats our bed. I sleep on the top bunk. WIth Moon and QY.

The other side...

After dinner, (which was really awesome chicken and salad and TEA), they got us back into the hall again to torture us further make us listen to a really boring speech about our country's millitary.
--
Almost dozed off. Then they threw to us another project.

With these items, construct a weapon and present it the day after.=_=

Group 6 discussing...

And we finally came up with this piece of crap. Was supposed to be a gun...

The main hall. Where they had subjected us to many horrors. We passed up our "weapons" and went back to sleep.
-
Well, we were supposed to sleep. But we had a party instead. With much food and girly talk and school gossip.

Mommy Moon making us tuna biscuits xD

Well, not THAT much food, but it is something...

We slept at 3am in the end.
-
Day 3 - Sunday
-
Woke up at 6am. Morning excercise then breakfast again.
We even had dancing that morning.
The morning sky has a pretty color

The dorms

The volleyball court opposite the dorms. Also where wwe had our morning excercises

Canteen. The place we kinda love the most.

The outdoor pipe. I LOVE YOU PIPE.

Then we were off to continue yesterday's unfinished activities. Everyone went for the flying fox while Group 1 went to do river crossing.
-
Flying fox took a long time since only one person could go up at a time. Girls went first. But there were some who were so scared they didn't want to climb up the tree or jump or took forever doing so. That took up some time too.
-
I had experience so my turn went by really fast. xD
Then we went to rest and also to watch the poor souls get drenched in the river crossing activity. Disapointed that noone was shaking the rope that day. They got it easy and yet some people still fell.
-
We rested in the canteen and watched a couple of people dance battled. Then Andrew caught a millipeed and a gigantic fly and put them into a plastic container in hopes that they would start fighting. Went away because it was boring to watch.
-
We were forced into the hall for the I-don't-know-how-many-th time that week and they gave the closing speech and made us do a presentation on our group flag as well as our 'weapons' we made.
-
Then closing speech. Group 4 won the best group award and was given a hamper. Then we were finally released to eat lunch and return home.
-
After lunch, we packed and rushed to our buses. We were supposed to take our original seats again. But as you know, everyone was dead tired and therefore a little delusional and everyone started fighting over seats, like everyone finally snapped from the lack of sleep. But in the end, we got seats, though we were all seperated and returned home.
-
Thankfully the driver didn't lose his way again so we were back at school within an hour.As soon as we got home, me and my sister made a beeline for the toilet for a much needed proper shower
-
Overall, the camp was really fun. I even talked to people whom I'd never dream of even looking at in school . We are all on friendly terms now.
-
It was tiring, but fun. The only problem was the main commander. He was really arrogant and kept dissing us and mocking our city life. He thinks we've all got empty brains or something. He doesn't respect his colleagues much either.
-
Other than him, we had no problems at all. If given a chance, I'd do it all again too. It was great experience >3
-
Finally done with camp post. W00t~ *claps*
